The silent killer: The asbestos threat from East Moors steelworks – 36 years after it closed

In association with law firm Hugh James, we look at the ongoing risk of asbestos exposure – years after the closure of one of Wales’ biggest steelworks East Moors steelworks in Splott, Cardiff , was in operation throughout the 1960s and early 70s before it closed in 1978. Asbestos was used to lag pipe work, which ran the length of the buildings, and boilers because of its insulating properties.
