The devastated children of a former sergeant major who died decades after coming into contact with deadly asbestos are appealing for help from his former colleagues. Ronald Bell, from Wallsend , died after a short battle with mesothelioma – a terminal asbestos-related lung cancer – at the age of 84. His son Stuart, 55, and daughter Pia, 49, are calling for help to find out how and where he was exposed to the harmful dust and fibres that caused his disease.
