Gerald Twinn, of Burgess Road, Brigg, who was 74 when he passed away in July, worked as a mechanical fitter at the site for 36 years, according to his son Nicholas. After the factory’s closure, he took on a similar role at a breadcrumb factory in Gainsborough before retiring aged 59. An inquest heard how Mr Twinn had remained in good health until last Christmas, when he visited his GP complaining of breathing difficulties.
