Lee Harvey, a gifted Jacksonville artist with an appetite for controversy who fought a decade-long battle with mesothelioma, died Monday. In 1997 Mr. Harvey attracted the attention of Simon Smith, head of the Coalition Against Pornography, after he hung a nude painting titled “Adam and Eve” in the window of a gallery he was running on Post Street in Five Points.
