Professor Bruce Robinson, from the University of Western Australia, has discovered a way to use new immunotherapy and DNA sequencing techniques to fight tumours, and his research could have human trials within a year. Professor Robinson’s vaccine is based on the idea that the body’s immune defense system fails to recognise cancer cells as a threat.
