N.J. home to 8th highest number of asbestos-related deaths

New Jersey, home to some of the country’s largest manufacturers of asbestos products, ranks eighth in the nation for the number of people who died from lung cancer and other asbestos-related diseases, according to a new report. From 1999 to 2013, between 128,000 to 160,000 people in the nation died from asbestos exposure, including 9,395 who lived in New Jersey, according to the Environmental Working Group Action Fund’s report released last week.
