Instead of celebration or desolation over last week's decision to ban asbestos use in Canada, there is only determination to forge ahead with remake of this devastated town's economy. Francesco Spertini, a former geologist at the Asbestos mine in Quebec, recalled the negative reaction when he would mention the name of his hometown when travelling through Europe.
