One of 11 Cancer Research UK nurses working in oncology at Southampton General Hospital , Amanda spends her days working with patients at varying stages of their illness – from those reeling from a diagnosis to others who have been battling for years. The 50-year-old knows only too well the devastating impact cancer can have, having lost her mum, Carol, to ovarian cancer when she was just 48-years-old.
