The doctor who helped Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver reap millions of dollars in “referral fees” was removed Friday as head of a cancer research center at New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia. Dr. Robert Taub still remains on the payroll but is no longer overseeing the Mesothelioma Research Center, officials said.
